A bit about me...

I'm James. I'm a 29 and I'm a national hunt racing fan.

I wanted to create this site so I could put some racing related thoughts and some analysis for key races into words.

Another reason for creating this blog-site was to enable me to connect with and meet like-minded racing fans.

I'd love to be able to get some exposure to the racing industry.

You can find out more about me in the section below.

Why did I start blogging?
I decided to put this site together and to start writing about horse racing as it is a hug passion of mine.  There are only a handful of people that I know that share the same enthusiasm for the sport as I do, so I thought this would be a great way to reach a wider audience and interact with more like-minded people.

What will I be writing about?
I will be writing mainly about race analysis for weekend racing or any of the big meetings. It will be more national hunt oriented as that's where most of my knowledge and passion lies. I will cover some of the flat racing too, however, that will mostly for the big meetings.
I'll also throw in a few race selections where appropriate with my race analysis as well as any antepost bets that I feel are worth a punt.

When and why did I start to take an interest in horse racing?
My passion for horse racing started to develop when I was around 15/16. Growing up my grandad would always have the racing on TV and is a racing fan himself so I guess it started there. However, I moved abroad when I was 10 and horse racing simply wasn't a thing there. When we moved back to England, I just remember what a big deal everybody was making of the Cheltenham festival, not quite realising what an occasion it was. Once I watched it on the TV I was engrossed. I'm fascinated by horses, the racing aspect and the raceday occasions.

What is my local track?
Warwick, Stratford and Wolverhampton racecourses are my 'local' tracks. That said, neither of them are exactly local to me. They are all between 30-35 miles away from home.

Do I class myself as a tipster?
Not at all. I do like to have a flutter if I can find something worth backing. I do get asked for tips especially when there is a big meeting on. I don't mind sharing some bets that I have placed, but I always like to give the reasoning behind my selections so people can then go and make their own minds up. My race analysis posts will hopefully be an example of that.

Favourite racehorse(s)?
My favourite racehorse is Vautour. All 3 of his festival wins in the supreme, JLT and Ryanair will live long in the memory. His jumping in the JLT was flawless that day and the way he put the Ryanair to bed on the bend in a matter of strides in 2016 immense. What could have been!
Of those currently in training it would have to be either Mrs Milner, Flooring Porter and Impaire Et Passe. I think the latter will be a star.

Favourite trainer(s)?
Without being too obvious, it has to be Willie Mullins - the man is a genius. The same goes for Aidan O'Brien on the flat.
I'm also a big fan of Fergal O'Brien and Gavin Cromwell.
